Final Presentation's Feedback

On 7/17, we had a final presentation in class about our newly established NGO.

At first, we talked about the survey results on the Google Form.

I wrote about the detailed results in a previous article, which you can read it

From these results, We wanted to uncover the hidden voices of victims of physical violence as well as victims of violence that is not generally recognized as "violence” and to eliminate the disrespect for women that underlies people's thinking and to improve women's rights.

Therefore, I decided our team name...

"Voices unheard"

In addition, our specific tasks are....

1.Clarifying the boundaries of "violence" and the types of violence.

2.Eliminating the idea of disrespect for woman(opposite gender)

Our mission statement...

Our specific goals are...

Our specific activities

For our generation, social networking is the most powerful and effective tool

①Use social networking sites to create content to spread the word about different types of violence.

For example, create videos using TikTok or Instagram reel to inform people about various types of violence.

Using animations and illustrations to make the content visually clear and easy to understand would also be effective.

Encourage discussion of “Where does violence come from?”:

Polling feature (e.g. Stories): “Is being ignored by a friend violent?” and other gray area cases that are difficult to judge, and invite followers to share their opinions.

Live Streaming: Regular live-streaming of the site to answer followers' questions and share your opinions on specific topics, facilitating two-way communication.

②Activities in school

・I would like to create a poster or leaflet

creating the poster related to the various kind of violence and the poster can help victims of the various violence guide the advise service counter and everybody recognize and understand the definition of the violence

・display the our activity like  in school festivals booth

in our school festivals which is popular with large populations from various area in Japan, and introduce our NGO activity and expand our activity and understand the boundary of violence.

・cooperation with schools teachers and institutions, and with them I would like to hold a class about the violence We investigate

③communication with classmates and friends.

・through conversation with friends, we make friends raise awareness about hidden violence

What makes us unique point is ....

We hope to create an organization that is possible because we are two young women.

Thanks for reading the blogs this far!!

Finally, through this experience, I would like to describe what I have learned through this experience.

I learned the importance of objective evidence through the creation of my blog and the preparation and presentation of presentation materials.

It was the first time we were able to visualize what we needed by using objective, data-driven numbers.

In addition, after presentation, I was asked how specifically how would raise money to work this organization.

I had only vaguely thought about how to raise money, so I thought further discussion was needed.

Through our research and activities, we hope to reduce the number of women who suffer from unreasonable events. (Sena & Chiharu)

  1. I think your NGO idea is very meaningful, and the name “Voices Unheard” is powerful. I like how you focus on spreading awareness through social media and school events. Your examples, like using Instagram polls or live videos, are really creative. One thing you could also consider is looking at male victims of violence. Sometimes people forget that men can also suffer, especially from emotional or non-physical violence. If you include their stories too, it could help more people feel seen and supported. I’m looking forward to seeing how your project grows.

  2. Great job on your presentation!
I found it really interesting that your summary of the survey results and the introduction of the NGO were well-organized and easy to follow. I especially admire your idea of creating such an organization. I think it’s truly admirable that you thought about starting something like this to help others. Personally, I haven’t experienced anything like domestic violence myself. However, I’ve read many personal stories and warnings online, and they’ve made me realize that anyone could become vulnerable and that it could happen to anyone, including me. Since I haven’t experienced it, I can’t say exactly how it feels, but I imagine it must be extremely frightening and lonely. Just knowing that there are organizations like the one you introduced might make it easier for victims to reach out, and that could help prevent further harm. Also, on a side note, I thought your slide design was really well done! Once again, great work on your presentation!
