Voices Unheard – Giving a Voice to the Silenced
Our organization focuses on raising awareness of gender-based violence—especially the forms that are less visible and empowering women, particularly those in their teens and twenties, to speak up and seek help.
Our Mission
Voices Unheard is dedicated to promoting women's rights and safety through outreach, education, and accessible consultation services. Our specific goals are:
To increase access to our consultation services by 30% annually through online platforms and local outreach.
To boost the number of consultations, especially from younger women, by 25% each year by 2028.
We believe that change starts with awareness. That’s why we plan to use shortn form videos on TikTok and Instagram Reels to highlight real life examples of violence, especially the subtle or emotional kinds that are often overlooked. We also aim to work with influencers on social media, whose voices can amplify ours and help reach wider audiences. Offline, we’ll host on-campus events, set up posters and booths, and even engage in casual conversations to normalize talking about these issues.
Classmate Feedback and Our Response
What we heard:
“Having female motivational speakers could encourage people to speak up and bring a positive message.”
“Try to make people feel comfortable to speak up.”
“There are a surprising number of male victims too—consider including them.”
“It might be hard to gain trust through SNS alone. Maybe explain how your NPO is safe and get support from schools.”
“Too many words—try more bullet points.”
“Use more visuals like graphs and categories.”
We were really encouraged by the supportive feedback, especially on our use of social media and clear goals. We also appreciate the thoughtful suggestions on how to make our message more accessible and inclusive.
Here’s how we’d improve our plan based on your input:
We’ll invite female guest speakers who have powerful stories to share, to inspire others and create a space of empathy and courage.
We’ll consider including male victims in some of our content, since violence can affect anyone regardless of gender.
To build trust, we’ll collaborate with schools and official institutions to promote safety and credibility.
For better communication, we’ll redesign our slides with more bullet points, less text, and more visuals like infographics and charts.
This project is personal to us because we’re two young women who want to address these issues in a way that feels relatable, non-judgmental, and actionable. Thank you.
